House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) denied on Sunday that President-elect Trump’s mass deportation plan could cost trillions of dollars, but would go beyond restoring the country’s safety and security. said there is no good investment.

Johnson made the remarks during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” when asked about the border crisis and food prices, two issues he claimed contributed to Trump’s victory.

“I can’t think of a better dollar for investing than in restoring the security and security of our country,” Prime Minister Johnson said. “We have had four years of wide open borders and millions of illegal aliens. We have dangerous illegal aliens in our country, criminals who have already committed crimes, and violent crimes against American citizens. ”

The speaker cited crime in the U.S. and the “incalculable humanitarian costs of human trafficking and fentanyl” as important reasons for addressing border security, adding, “Getting rid of that criminal element…is what the American people want us to do.” “It’s about being there,” he said.

“The federal government’s first job is to protect the people,” he said. “And when our borders are wide open, there is no safety, security, or even sovereignty for that matter. President Trump intends to follow through on his campaign promises and the promises we all made during the campaign. ”It costs money, but it’s a small investment. ”

Asked whether the plan would come with a multi-trillion dollar price tag, Prime Minister Boris Johnson dismissed the idea.

“It’s not going to cost trillions of dollars. I don’t think we know what that amount is yet,” he said. “But I say the American people will support that effort, and we’re going to start with the most dangerous elements, and you’re going to see dramatic changes in this country because of it.” Sho.”

Mr Johnson did not give an estimate of how much the deportation plan would cost.

Regarding food prices, Prime Minister Johnson said there was no doubt that these costs would fall under the Trump administration as “fiscal sanity” and “common sense” returned.

Johnson said Congress and the Trump administration will “restart the economic engine” as they did during Trump’s first term, when lawmakers “reduced the tax burden on the American people, but more importantly, the regulatory burden.” He said he was deaf.
