Police have arrested a man for intentionally showing nude photos of himself to a young child on a Santa Monica pier.
Benjamin Bush, 46, was arrested in late October after an “intensive detective investigation,” according to a news release from the Santa Monica Police Department.
Mr. Bush is a resident of Rosamond, Kern County, and works at the California Correctional Facility in Tehachapi.
This undated mug shot provided by the Santa Monica Police Department shows Benjamin Bush, 46, of Rosamond.
On the night of September 18, President Bush allegedly showed nude photos of himself to three 9-year-old children outside Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. He was also seen showing the same image to another child in a nearby arcade.
Santa Monica police began investigating the incident and were able to identify Mr. Bush as a suspect several weeks later.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with child nuisance and distribution of harmful material to minors.
Police say Mr. Bush has no prior criminal record, and jail records show he was cited, released and given a January trial date.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying additional cases. Anyone with information is encouraged to email SMPD Detectives Sean Baker or David Haro or contact the Watch Commander at any time at 310-458-8427.
