First Fox: Energy Watchdog Group is asking the Trump administration to investigate whether former President Joe Biden signed an energy-related executive order using an autopen, and whether such actions were “enacted with presidential knowledge.”
Power the Future, Pro-Energy Group, has written to the Attorney General’s Office, raising questions about the “reasonability and legitimacy” of several major orders signed by the Democratic president during its term.
“We respectfully request that former President Biden have approved a suspension of LNG or whether a document reflecting the White House position has been signed or signed by staff instead, in light of growing evidence of important economic actions with serious economic and national and global security implications, without the knowledge of officials who are clearly not elected in President Biden’s name.
The letter comes after President Donald Trump declared Biden’s 11-hour pardon, which they were signed by an autopen, and the former president declared “invalid” on the allegations that he “knowed nothing about them.”

Future Future suspends the license for liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities in January 2024 and orders a ban on new drilling in 625 million acres of US coast and offshore waters.
“In relation to the recent revelation that many of the actions the former president allegedly claimed may not have been approved or signed by him, he may have instead used a ‘auto-pen’ to promote his signature, and in particular, in light of the speaker’s official statement that Biden had no idea that he was behind LNG’s abdomen and certain White House ‘advice’. [it,]”It doesn’t require a big leap, as you’d wonder if the LNG suspension itself was promulgated by an advisor on an autopen, not by the former president himself,” the group wrote.
A letter raising concerns over the president’s knowledge of the executive order appeared to have forgotten that Biden had signed an order suspended from exporting LNG during a meeting in January.

“I can’t answer this from my Louisiana constituent,” Johnson told Biden. “Why have you suspended LNG exports in Europe? Liquefied natural gas is in great demand from our allies. Why do we do that? We’ve just talked about Ukraine and understand that we’re fueling Vladimir Putin’s war machinery.
According to Johnson, Biden replied, “I didn’t do that.”
The letter also notes the involvement of John Podesta, the president’s former senior White House adviser for the innovation and implementation of clean energy in his main decision to suspend LGN exports.
In March 2024, a group of GOP lawmakers handed over a letter to Podesta expressing concern over “driving” the LNG suspension.

The president’s autopen has been focusing this week after Trump argued on Sunday that he must determine whether courts are using autopens for executive orders and pardons.
Autoopen is a device programmed to physically hold a pen and replicate a person’s signature. The Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel held in 2005 that the president was allowed to use an autopen to sign the bill to the law, and the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit issued a ruling in February stating that it was “not equivalent to proof that no writing occurred.”
The majority of official documents signed by Biden are said to have used the same autopen signature, reviving concerns about the former president’s mental vision and “actually ordered the signature of relevant legal documents,” according to a recent report released by the herd of heritage.
