It is speculated that Trump’s outspoken supporter, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, will throw his hat into the California governor’s race next year.
When the post appeared on the event planning website Eventbrite, a report on the potential of Bianco Run picked up Steam on Monday, February 17th when he said he would “make a big announcement.”
Bianco has not commented publicly, but criticised Gov. Gavin Newsom while supporting Donald Trump for the president in a video posted on his personal Instagram account last summer.
“This love affair that our governor and our state legislature have with criminals is based on the belief that criminals are not responsible for their actions. They are victims of society, and in fact, they are actually victims of society. It’s our fault.”
Bianco said he “switched teams” to support the president’s “felons.”
“That’s when we put felons in the White House,” the California sheriff says.
“I think it’s time to put a felony in the White House instead of getting them out of prison and giving them alcohol, drugs, etc.” Bianco said, a tongue on his cheek.
The Los Angeles Times followed an article in 2024 that stated that Bianco was already pondering the idea of the governor’s run.
The sheriff also made headlines in 2021 when he said vowed not to enforce mandates within the sheriff’s office, as vowed to vaccinate vaccinations as a personal choice, the Times reported.
