Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman admitted that his party had done it wrong with President Donald Trump’s tariffs, saying so far the US trade war is “going well.”

Asked by Fox News Digital if he thought the Trump administration was winning the trade war, Fetterman replied, “Absolutely.”

“I’m a huge Bill Maher fan, so I mean, I think he’s really one of the oracles at my party, and he admitted that.

“So for me,” he continued.

This is because US neighbors have been increasing Canadian tariffs from 25% to 35% since Friday, as they were unable to curb the imports of fentanyl and other illegal drugs. The White House noted that Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to increase his involvement in Canada’s efforts to take responsibility for its role in the flow of illegal drugs to the United States.

Additionally, Trump signed another executive order on Thursday to change mutual tariff rates in some countries to further address the US trade deficit. The action reflects Trump’s efforts to protect the United States from foreign threats to national security and the economy by ensuring “a fair and balanced mutual trade relationship,” the White House said.

Earlier this year, Trump announced an additional 10% tariff in all countries and an increase in tariffs in countries where the US has a massive trade obstacle. The duties became effective on April 9th. Since then, Trump and his team have since made several trade deals with several countries.

The US has signed a contract with the European Union, and the EU has agreed to purchase $750 billion in US energy and make a new investment of $600 billion by 2028. The EU has agreed to accept a 15% tariff rate. The US has also agreed to sign a deal with Japan and invest $550 billion in the US to rebuild and expand the US industry. Japan also agreed to expand its own market to US exports, and like the EU, Japan agreed to a baseline 15% tariff rate.

But many Democrats have dug their heels on Trump’s tariff strategy and say the negative impact is still on the horizon.

Senator Jack Reed, Dr. i. Despite the increase in revenue, we expect to see a significant increase in most of the things you buy within weeks or months.

“When you have full tariffs, it works like a national sales tax, and I think people will get hurt more and more,” predicted Sen. Chris Van Hollen of D-MD.

“This is the president he said he’d come in and cut prices. Prices will rise and increase over time,” Van Hollen said.

Massachusetts Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren said, “Donald Trump may hit his chest and say, ‘Man, I took him a 15% tariff or a 25% tariff,’ but I understand that Donald Trump is making it clear that the United States under Donald Trump is not our trustworthy trading partner, so I understand that all of these trading partners have come to find other customers to find other customers.

Warren also argued that Trump’s tariffs are the reason the Federal Reserve has not cut US interest rates.

“Jerome Powell said last month that he would have cut interest rates in February if it hadn’t been for the turmoil that Donald Trump was causing trade. As a result, American families have been paying more on credit cards and more on home mortgages for six months,” Donald Trump caused the confusion.

Meanwhile, a Republican spoken by Fox News Digital urged the president to double his tariff strategy.

“I think that’s exactly the right approach. It’s something I’ve been urging him to do as president, and I think the success he’s winning is a big victory for America,” said Sen. Ted Cruz of R-Texas.

In response to Democrats predicting economic radioactiveness due to tariffs, Cruz ironically stated, “I was shocked and shocked that Democrats are rooting in what the economy does badly under President Trump.”

“If some Democrats put aside their partisan hatred towards Trump and actually start working together with American workers for American jobs, that’s good. Unfortunately, I don’t see many Democrats who are interested in doing that right now,” Cruz said.

Senator John Kennedy, R-La. expresses its hope that the tariffs are ultimately successful, but that it is to ultimately achieve a mutual zero percent tariff between the United States and its trading partners.

“Obviously, the President got quite a deal from one perspective. Europeans just fell in. They had a 15% tariff, zero to us, commitment to invest in our country. I explained.

“That’s what we want to achieve in all our trade transactions,” Kennedy explained. “Let’s make our free enterprise system work. The best products win at the best prices. That’s going to be the perfect situation for me.”
