The Senate voted to President Donald Trump to confirm with the general that ISIS could be eradicated “very quickly” during his first term in the role of co-chief’s chairmanship.
The vote came just a few days ago on Friday morning after Democrats quickly checked Kane on Thursday and refused to make a GOP attempt to leave town.
The vote count was between 60 and 25, with 15 Democrats supporting Trump’s candidate.
Kane, a different Air Force F-16 pilot in the background, will become the first National Guard general to become the chairman of the co-chief. Trump responded from retirement after firing General CQ Brown in February, serving as his top military adviser.
Brown was behind the 2022 memo laying out Air Force diversity goals.
Kane was the first co-chief chairman who was not a four-star, and first came out of retirement to meet that role. He was not the combatant or the head of services. That is, Trump had to give him an exemption to serve his role.

Kane granted the unconventional nomination at a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee. “In our family, we serve. We always say yes. Senator, I accept that I am an unconventional candidate. These are unconventional times.”
He served as the CIA’s Deputy Director of Military Affairs from 2021 to 2024, establishing a regional airline in Texas. He was a White House Fellow in the Agriculture sector and a counterterrorism specialist on the White House Homeland Security Council.
Kane was one of a group of military leaders who met with the president at Al-Assad Air Base in Iraq in December 2018. Trump was there to deliver the Christmas message and hear from the commander on earth. So Kane told Trump that he could quickly defeat ISIS with a surge in resources and lifting engagement restrictions.

“‘We’re just going to hit them from a temporary base in Syria,” Trump told him. “But if you gave us permission, we could hit them from behind, from the side, from everything, from the base you’re in for now.
Trump claimed that Kane was wearing a red mag hat when he first met him.
“Sir, for 34 years I supported the oath of office and my commitment to the committee. I have never worn any political merchandise,” Kane told R-Miss, chairman of Armed Services.
When he chose Kane, Trump praised him as a “skilled pilot, national security expert, successful entrepreneur, and “fighter jets” with important ministries and special operations experience.”

Kane vowed that his duty was to advise the president on defence considerations without political influence.
The role said, “It’s a good example from the top, starting with confirming that we are nonpartisan and apolitical, and telling the truth to power.”

General Mark Milley, the first chairman of Trump’s co-chief, is now the enemy of the top. The president recently stripped him of his security clearance and knocked down his portrait into a pentagon.
