Evacuation is underway as fast-moving wildfires continue to grow near Silverwood Lake in San Bernardino County on Saturday night.
The flame, known as the Lake Fire, ignited on about 70 acres before 4pm. By 5pm the fire had grown to 150 acres and by 6pm the fire had mapped to 175 acres, potentially spreading to 1,000 acres according to Cal Fire.
Drivers are asked to avoid Highway 173 and Highway 138 as fires are burning on both sides of Highway 138.
An evacuation order has been issued in the area south of Highway 138, from Highway 173 to Summit Valley Road. The road is closed on Highway 138 from Old Mill to Interstate 15 and Highway 173 on Highway 138.

Heavy smoke is visible in the area, and the structure is threatened as the fire pushes towards Hesperia. Law enforcement is in the process of issuing evacuations.
A popular recreational area in the San Bernardino Mountains, both the Air Force and the ground crew are available for the scene. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
“We are monitoring the fire southwest of Silverwood Lake,” said Captain Kenlutz, Victor Valley/Adelante station. “For instructions, please follow the official website. If you are close to the location, be prepared in case the terms change.”
