Red State Assemblyman warned of allegedly accepting “DEI Dollars” by the Hospital Association: Watchdog

First on Fox: A conservative nonprofit is what Tennessee legislators warn about hospital groups. This says that even if some of these lawmakers receive donations from the group, they are quietly pushing for radical Dei’s policies.

As the agency launched its policy with President Donald Trump’s efforts to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, the Consumer Research Group, a non-profit, conservative consumer agency, has sent a letter urging Tennessee Republican lawmakers to turn down their ties with the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA).

“Tennessee representatives accepting DEI dollars from awakened agencies like the Tennessee Hospital Association are in direct conflict with President Trump,” Executive Director Hild told Fox News Digital. “The president was clear. Organizations that continue to promote discriminatory DEI policies should be investigated.”

The letter, sent to Lt. Col. Randy McNally and House Speaker Cameron Sexton, comes after both Republican Chairman Cameron Sexton launched a campaign last month titled “Is Vanderbilt University Medical Center Hidden?” After realising that the university is removing some of the DEI’s commitments and references to resources, it is hiding them behind password-protected web pages.

The letter was also made at the CC on State Capitol majority leaders William Lambers, state Sens. Shane Reeves, Jack Johnson, Ed Jackson, Becky Massey, Ferrell Hale, state Rep. Gary Hicks, chorus “Documer and Ryan Williams.”

Public documents show that lawmakers received financial support from the THA. This found that the association still promotes DEI and “health equity” on inclusion and health equity.

“Our campaign to ask what Vanderbilt University Medical Center is revealing a desperate and futile attempt at the healthcare system to cover its extensive daytrack.

From 2020 to 2024, the Tennessee Hospital Association’s Political Action Committee (PAC) won $707,950 for contributing to state candidates and PACs, including both the House and Senate Republican Caucus.

“This is why consumer research has important concerns that the acceptance of DEI dollars in THA shows systematic efforts to prevent state investigations of hospitals facing criticism to provide irreversible gender transition procedures for minors,” he said.

“This should be wary of you and your constituents who rely on hospitals to provide exceptional care to patients without a political agenda.”

In a previous statement from Fox News Digital, VUMC spokesman John Howser said that VUMC will “conduct a thorough review” of “programs needed to maintain compliance,” particularly in light of Trump’s recent enforcement actions, which require educational institutions to end their DEI programs.

Trump signed an order in January to “end illegal discrimination and restore merit-based opportunities” to eradicate all DEI programs within federal agencies and among federal contractors. It fostered positive action and revoked previous directives that required contractors to implement the DEI initiative, claiming that these programs led to “priority treatment.”

Fox News Digital reached out to VUMC, the Tennessee Hospital Association and Tennessee Republican lawmakers.
