Two Redondo Beach residents were tied up by a pair of intruders who broke into their home early Sunday during an invasion robbery, police said.
Redondo Beach Police Station was notified of a man pointing a gun at the other person in the vehicle just before 6am on Sunday. The phone was disconnected before witnesses could provide a location, but officers were able to follow the phone to Matthew Avenue in the 1900 block.
There, law enforcement learned that a family burglary in the area and that the suspect had taken off on foot just before. Officers chased two individuals believed to have led to the intrusion and took them into custody.
Police said the victim was tied up in his home “for a long period of time.” Firefighters responded to the scene and provided medical assistance to victims who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One of the victims was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police have identified the suspects as Jesus Veles, 31, of Rochester, New York, and Doraven Luna, 21, of Queens, New York. Both face charges including robbery, robbery and inviting. The bail for each suspect is set at $100,000.
The investigation is underway.
