The 38-year-old registered sex offender was arrested for loving in the women’s division at a Burbank store and engaging in indecent behavior against the female victim, police said Thursday.
According to the Burbank Police Department, officers responded to 1601 N. Victory Place on Tuesday, following reports of suspected individuals sexually harassing female clients through the women’s department.
Karen Caron Crowder of Glendale had left the store before officers arrived, but they tracked him down at the Walmart store at 1301 N. Victory Place, where he took him into custody.
“Using the store’s surveillance system, officers monitored the suspects as they moved through various departments. In the women’s section, the suspects, following a female client, engaged in indecent behaviour by leaning near her and inappropriately sniffing her ass,” police said in a statement.
Police say Crowder, a registered sex offender currently on parole, has a similar crime history in Glendale and Burbank, dating back to 2021.
He was booked on suspicion of lo humiliation with intent to commit a crime and was detained without bail, according to police and prison records.
