Exclusive: The disruption over the Trump administration’s cost-cutting efforts have become physical after protesters crashed an event in the Red New York district and encouraged Republican lawmakers to raise concerns about democratic efforts to “organize” “protests” in the GOP district.
Protesters disrupt a private luncheon hosted by the Rockland Business Association on Thursday, with one of the speakers, Rep. Mike Lawler, targeting Republican efforts to cut federal spending.
A video obtained by Fox News Digital shows “Lawless Lawler” yelling “Elon’s Puppet” with a sign clearly referring to the Government Efficiency Bureau (Doge)’s efforts to cut costs. The confusion quickly became physical as protesters wrestled with participants in the event.
Roller’s team in response to the protest pointed to comments by DN.Y. Sen. Chuck Schumer, where Democrats opposed their policies and sent people into Republican districts to “facing consequences.”

“We’re mobilizing in New York. There are people who go to Republican districts and chase Republicans who are voting for this, force them to change their vote or face consequences,” Schumer said in a recent interview with PBS. “This is a long, merciless battle we fight every day, and I’m sure we’ll defeat Trump’s popularity, numbers and strength if we keep it up.”
Lawler’s communications director Ciro Riccardi told Fox News Digital: “It’s outrageous that Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer is incitement of far-reaching activists to harass and intimidate Republicans in Congress.”
“Yesterday he appeared on PBS and said, “We’re mobilizing in New York. There are people going to the Republican district. Earlier that day, the lunch for the bipartisan Rockland Business Association was violently confused by protesters, including Brooklyn’s known provocateur Walter Masterson,” Ricardi said in a statement.
Lawler, a Republican from New York, will be appearing on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in Washington (Tierney L. Cross).
“They attacked multiple seniors in the process of reading from the statements written on their phones. Is these kinds of “consequences” Schumers supporting them? ” Riccardi told Fox.
In a repost of Schumer’s interview with X, Lawler said, “In other words, @Senschumer acknowledges that he coordinates with inseparable activists and groups to organize protests and organize the people of Gaslight.”
The protest is one of several confusions at the events of this week’s Congress.
