Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville announced his running for the 2026 Governor of Alabama.
Tuberville, the Senate’s highest supporter and ally of President Donald Trump, has launched a campaign website to promote his “conservative Alabama values.”
And the senator made his first appearance after announcing his candidacy on Fox News’ Will Cain Show.
The move by a former longtime college football coach who spent 10 years as a head coach at Auburn University in Alabama has concluded weeks of speculation about his ambitions to run for governor in the home state.

Just a week ago, Fox News confirmed that Tuberville told donors at a recent private meeting that he was launching a governor’s campaign.
And he told a familiar source a few weeks ago that if Tuberville decides to run for governor, his support from Trump would be a “complete deal.”
Tuberville, who was elected to the Senate in 2020, is led by the success of the time-limited Gop Gov. Kay Ivey. And his move set an open Senate seat in Alabama in the 2026 midterm elections.
