Lépublique is one of the most highly regarded restaurants in LA. One of its owners, Walter Manzke, spoke up to the voice of Tesla Diner, which is not open in West Hollywood in Elon Musk, and became the latest subject of online political controversy after Tesla’s owners were able to charge for the car and get food. In response, Hancock Park Restaurant issued a statement on Instagram around 3pm on Friday. “At Republique, we believe in focusing on what we are doing our best. We create an outstanding food and a welcoming experience for all our guests. In response to a recent New York Times article, I would like to clarify that the quote that you might buy a Tesla is about exploring electric vehicle options, not a political statement. Their background and beliefs are important,” the post reads completely.
Initially, the post was flooded with barrages of comments that support his dissatisfaction with Republique. At least two different Instagram users have requested that restaurants stop refusing to support Tesla, Musk, and even Doge and President Trump. Within an hour, République disabled the comment.
