The increase in car tire theft has rattled two LA neighborhood residents, waking up cars on cinder blocks.
However, rather than all four wheels being filmed, the thief appears to have only two hours.
Viewers contacted KTLA on Sunday night to report that “at least a few dozen” had been stolen on Saturday nights around the Viva League Robe and Fairfax districts.
Viewer Jason said he was the victim and posted a photo of the truck on the neighbours app on Cinderblock, parked along Edinburgh Avenue in Viver League Rove, urging others living nearby to report a similar incident.

Jason detailed what these incidents have been happening in the area “for a long time.” Other posts on community safety apps such as Neighbors and Ring that we provided to KTLA show that similar thefts could have occurred until July 10th.

On Monday morning, at least one vehicle (Jason’s truck) was still in the Cinder block. Other affected residents appeared to have moved their vehicles or have already replaced their tires.
“I [was starting] I quickly determined that two of my driver’s side tires had been stolen on my beautiful Sunday morning when I found rugnuts on the ground,” he explained to KTLA on Monday morning. Jason and the other victims compared security footage and found some similarities between thefts. This includes the fact that the same style of cinder blocks were used on “all other vehicles” involving them, and only the driver’s side tyres were removed.
“We finally found the video footage circulating. [that showed] A white Chevrolet 3500 van… From there, we share the words,” he said. [who are seen] After leaving the van, all they are doing is park the van next to the vehicle to block views from others. As you can see in the video, it takes them about 5-8 minutes for them to remove the wheels, then they are heading their path. ”

Jason said there was a detective in the lawsuit who told him that the crime appeared to be happening between 3am and 6am. However, the detective has not yet provided any leads to him or other local residents.
He also said that suspicious activity prompted the neighborhood clock program and that the incident had led to neighbours assembled a team to conduct their own investigations along with law enforcement.
KTLA has requested comment from the LA Police Station on the theft. However, they were unable to provide details immediately.
