Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-Louisiana) said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday” that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is “wrong” on the issue of vaccinations.
President-elect Donald Trump nominated Kennedy to be Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Cassidy is a gastroenterologist currently serving the people of Louisiana in the Senate and is the incoming chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

The senator said he looks forward to speaking with Kennedy next week, saying he agrees with Kennedy on some issues but disagrees on others.
Mr Cassidy said ultra-processed foods were a problem, but Mr Kennedy said he was “wrong” about vaccinations.
Fox News Digital asked if Cassidy planned to vote against confirming Kennedy to HHS, citing disagreements over vaccines.
“Mr. Cassidy does not meet with candidates or discuss his vote before the Senate process progresses,” a spokesperson for Mr. Cassidy said in a statement. “Cassidy explained that these are the topics he would like to discuss in his meeting with RFK Jr. this week and looks forward to a good conversation with him.”

Speaking to Fox News Digital on Monday, President Kennedy declined to comment on Cassidy’s claims that he is “wrong” on the vaccine issue.
But President Kennedy has previously said he doesn’t want to prevent people from getting vaccinated.
