Following what Riverside County officials described as a “long and thorough” investigation, a 25-year-old Hemett was arrested in connection with the January murder in which one man died and another wounded.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that Jonaten Amezola was taken into custody in Menifee on July 6th and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
The arrest follows a six-month investigation by the department’s central murder unit, with support from the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Gang Impact Team.
The incident stems from a violent incident reported in the 1800 block of Normandy Court in San Jacinto, after 1am on Sunday, January 12th. Deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports of deadly weapon assault and found an adult man on the ground, seriously injured. The man was declared dead at the scene.

The victim killed in the attack was identified as 20-year-old Hemet’s Raul Solorio, the sheriff’s office confirmed. It remains unclear whether authorities did not disclose any possible motives, whether the incident is gang-related, how many individuals involved in the shootings.
