A couple along the river have been arrested after a month-long investigation into child abuse and drug trafficking allegations, according to a press release issued Saturday by the Riverside Police Department.
Department Sexual Assault – Child Abuse Unit (SACA) began an investigation in mid-May 2025 after receiving reports of three children being physically abused by their parents. By the time authorities were notified, the children had already been taken from their homes by Riverside County Child Protection Services and became temporary foster parents.

As the investigation progressed, detectives began suspecting illegal drugs were being trafficked from their residence in the 7900 block of Magnolia Avenue. On Tuesday, July 15th, SACA detectives provided a search warrant with the support of the department’s metro team and the drug unit.
During the search, investigators seized about 200 grams of suspected heroin, more than 900 grams of cocaine, about 300 grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), and suspected fentanyl pills. Packaging materials and a large amount of cash were also recovered, according to police.

Officials noted that the drug was discovered in an area of a home that children can easily access and that the children may have been exposed to both the manufacturing and distribution processes.
The parents of the children identified as 31-year-old Miguel Jacobo and 34-year-old Alma Dominguez were arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Jacovo faces multiple felony charges, including drug violations, child abuse and child risk. Dominguez was charged with felony child danger. Both are held without bail.
“This investigation is still underway and no further details are available at this time,” the department said in a statement.
