An investigation is underway after a robbery call led to the discovery of an illegal drug laboratory in Orange County.
On April 25th, Westminster police responded to a report of the robbery at 4am at a building near Beach Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard.
Witnesses reported seeing several people trying to enter the commercial building. When officers arrived, the suspect fled, but police “observed that there had been clear indications of a robbery.”

While searching the building, authorities found materials and equipment that demonstrated illegal drug manufacturing operations.
“Because of the potentially dangerous nature of the scene, the Orange County Bomb Force, the Orange County Fire Department Hazmat team, and federal law enforcement partners have been summoned to ensure the site is safe,” officials said.
Carefully, several nearby businesses were evacuated as the dangerous goods team secured the site.
No details have been released regarding the types of drugs that may be manufactured. It is unclear who the lab as a detective belongs to.
