Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis predicts that if Democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the mayoral race in New York City this November, it will “surge in” Palm Beach’s property value.
Mamdani, an immigrant in Ugandan and a member of the American Democratic Socialist, won the Democratic nomination for New York City Mayor on Tuesday night. Mamdani, who ran a campaign with a number of free services, defeated New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. His victory will spark vigilance among both Republicans and Democrats, with some predicting the Mamdani administration, while others predicting a massive escape from America’s biggest city.
“When you think Palm Beach real estate can’t be any more expensive…” DeSantis told X in response to Mam Dani, the leading Cuomo who plays in South Florida as a long-standing relocation destination for New Yorkers.
Speaking just before Tuesday’s primary, DeSantis said, “If this socialist mayoral candidate wins in New York City, people will be out of that city and will see the value of the property skyrocketing in Palm Beach.”

“As bad as de Blasio,” continued DeSantis.
“He doesn’t think we should have law enforcement in the dangerous parts of the city, you should send social workers. See how it works for you, it won’t work.
Florida’s voice reported commented, “If this guy gets in, we may need to raise the police recruitment bonus.”
Desantis added, “When there are candidates who want to abolish the NYPD, it ‘it’s not over.’

Through Mamdani’s platform available on his campaign’s website, his socialist affiliation and recognition is in response to approval by Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
He has pledged to immediately freeze rent for more than 2 million New Yorkers living in rent-stabilized apartments.
He also pledged to establish a New York City Community Safety Bureau. It says it will deploy outreach workers to 100 metro stations, expand gun violence prevention programs and increase funding for the “Hate Violence Prevention Program” by 800%.
Mamdani has also pledged to defend a law that raises the minimum wage in New York City to $30 an hour by 2030.

Mamdani’s website says it plans to raise the corporate tax rate to 11.5%. He plans to set an additional 2% tax on people over $1 million a year, which he believes will add $4 billion in taxes per year. He also says he will raise another $1 billion to hire more tax auditors, end non-bid contracts and crack down on the incredible collection from “corrupted landlords.”

Republicans and Democrats alike have criticised Mamdani’s records. “This is a major moment in our country’s history,” Trump also said, adding that “Democrats crossed the line with Mamdani’s nomination.”
“Zohran Mamdani, a 100% communist madman, has just won the DEM primary and is on his way to become mayor,” Trump posted to The Society of Truth. “We had radical left-handers before, which is a bit ridiculous. He looks terrible, his voice is wrestling.
