The legendary Mexican band Los Bukis is set to win a star next week on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Formed in 1971 by cousins Marco Antonio and Joel Solis when they were children of Mexican Michoacan, the group became the common name for many generations of Latino families. Their hits include “Quiéreme”, “Tu Cárcel”, “Yo Te Necesito”, “Ya Ahora Te Vas” and “Morenita”.
The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at 11:30am at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard.
Their breakthrough came in 1976, but in the ’80s, when the achievements of their labor exploded, they found massive concerts and dominated radio.
“Their iconic discography has been part of the soundtrack of the Mexican experience for over 20 years and I’m happy to give them the flowers they deserve,” said Walk of Fame producer Anna Martinez.
The group, which sold out concerts in many countries around the world, has returned in 2021 after 25 years of holiday. Here, all the band members come together to be the first Latin artist to achieve this on the headline “UNA Historia Cantada” stadium tour. Los Bukis was also the first to complete all Spanish settlements in Las Vegas.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce released its list of 2025 winners about a year ago. When it was discovered that Los Bukis was on the list, they posted the following message on Instagram:
“Fifty years ago, this was born with that essence, and this is the essence of love and truth that has been able to touch millions of hearts celebrating this bright and bright realization in our sky today, and I would like to thank Bukimania for taking me to this transcendental place.
Over 30 artists will be added in 2025. The Los Bukis star will become the 2,817th star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The event can be seen here.
