A busy morning on Hollywood Boulevard. There, thousands of fans lined up, and Los Bukis won a star on his walk of fame.
One of them was comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, who was there to praise the Grammy-nominated Mexican band. Actor Demian Vicil was also on hand to honor them.
“I wake up to their songs and have that strong connection that reminds me of my childhood every time I hear one of these songs. So when I say it’s an honor to be here, I mean that,” cried Iglesias.
They are known for hits such as “Quiéreme”, “Yo Te Necesito”, “Presiento Que Allorar”, “A Donde Vayas”, “Ya Ahora Te Vas”, “Tus Mentiras”, “Morenita”, and “Necesito unacompañera”.
The group was first formed as a child by cousins Marco Antonio and Joel Solis. Two years later, they were signed by Discos Melody in 1973. The name “Los Bukis” means “child” in the Yaqui language.

Their big break came in 1976 at Falso Amor. In the 1980s, Ross Bukis found massive concerts and dominated radio. The 1986 hit “Tu Cárcel” won Mexico’s first Diamond Record and three Grammy Award nominations. They recently sold out Sophie Stadium for a reunion tour following a 25-year break.
The band also makes time to repay them. They donate to local charities to their hometown city in Michoacan, Mexico, with the aim of supporting vulnerable communities.
