Russian President Vladimir Putin’s administration has suggested that Washington, DC and Moscow ties are on the “brink” of collapse this week.
Russian Deputy Minister Sergei Riabakov made the announcement at a press conference on Monday. Lyabkov reiterated Putin’s stance that Ukraine would not have peace unless the country dispels its ambition to join NATO and participate in areas under Russian occupation.
“We simply need to order… a new US administration that understands and recognizes that it is impossible to reach an agreement without solving the problems that are the root cause of the Ukraine crisis.” said Lyabakov.
President Donald Trump said he spoke with Putin on Sunday, but a spokesman for the Russian leader refused to confirm this week’s call.

Trump on Sunday told reporters in Air Force 1: “We hope to have more conversations. We need to end that war.”
“I hate seeing all these young people being killed. The soldiers are killed by hundreds of thousands,” he added.

Zelensky said Washington is ready to supply the US with rare earth minerals in exchange for continued support of war efforts.
“If we’re talking about trading, let’s trade, we’re just for that,” Zelensky said.

Zelenskyy says he is looking for a “guarantee” when it comes to future security assurances for a war-torn country.
As Russia has violated its last agreement with Ukraine, known as the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, twice, these security guarantees must be more than a formal handshake combined with signed documents.
