R-Mont. Rep. Ryan Zinke said in a post on X on Thursday he was opposed to the Senate settlement action.
“I agree with my colleagues who have mismanaged federal land for decades. But I don’t agree with their solution. The solution is not to sell public land. The solution is better management. Send legislation to the POTUS desk to improve management and access.
The president is urging lawmakers to pass the measure.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee has pushed forward with measures to include the sale of some federal land, but Zinke is opposed to prospects.
A press release on Monday from a ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee showed that the public land sales provision for the measure was flagged by the senators.

“Home prices crush families and prevent young Americans from living where they grew up. We need to change that,” Lee said in X’s Monday night post.
“Yes, Bird Rules limits what can be done with the settlement bill, but we’re supporting President Trump and doing everything we can to move this forward,” he pointed out.

Zinke served as Secretary of the Interior for some of President Donald Trump’s first term.
