Sabrina Carpenter offers a controversial image on her “Man’s Best Friend” album cover after the first art sparked a wave of repulsion.
“I have signed a copy of my best friend for you. Here is a new, God-approved alternative cover, available now on my website.
The new cover features a black and white photo of a carpenter’s slow dance along with a man in a suit.
This image pays homage to the classic photographs of carpenter Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe channeled by a carpenter for a March 2025 Vogue cover. The former couple married from 1956 to 1961.
“Ah, this is so murdered,” one fan wrote about the image in a comment on the Carpenter’s post.
“The caption is dead,” he added another.
Carpenter Quip, who says that the new art was “recognised by God,” appears to have been entertained by the controversy sparked by the original album art for “Man’s Best Friend.” Carpenter unveiled her new album on June 11th on her official social media account.
The album cover shows a carpenter kneeling on the floor in a tight black dress as she delicately places her fingers on the legs of a man’s pants. Meanwhile, the others stand on her, clutching a mass of her blonde hair over her head.
Carpenter shared the second image on Instagram. This showed a close-up of a dog wearing a tag with the words “man’s best friend.”
“My new album, “Man’s Best Friend,” will be released on August 29th, 2025. I can’t wait for it to be yours x pre-order,” Carpenter captioned her post.
Some fans loved the bold album covers, but others called the photo of Carpenter above his knee “disgusting” and “intrusive.”
Disappointed music lovers reported that they were experiencing “second-hand embarrassment” just by looking at the images.
A few days after Carpenter debuted the cover, she responded to online critics, sharing the photo in X’s subsequent posts, asking if Carpenter “has “a personality other than sex.”
“Girls, that’s gooooood,” Carpenter replied.
Please don’t assume you know who Sabrina Carpenter’s new song is. After fans speculated that “Manchild” was inspired by a particular source, the Grammy winner revealed what her new summer anthem actually was in an Instagram post on June 5th.
