If you plan to drive Topanga Canyon Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley next week, be prepared for some delays.
The California Department of Transport is building curb ramps and is forcing the closure of the northbound right lane as follows:
Calvert Street California Street Trannark Street Chase Street Stratan Street Shanebourne Street Plummer Street Partenia Street Wyandot Street Cohasset Street
The closure begins at 5:30am on Monday and will remain in place until 5:30am on Monday, March 31st, but officials have pointed out that these dates are exposed to the weather and may change.
“Driveways to homes and businesses remain accessible during the ongoing closure,” Caltrans said in a news release.
However, although work is in progress, it is recommended that drivers use alternative routes when possible and slow down if they drive construction zones.
The work is part of a Cartrun project, “passing the curb ramp in the San Fernando Valley, pedestrian push buttons, bus pads through the San Fernando Valley bus pads, and unincorporated areas in Topanga,” and “a work zone spanning over 18 miles on the SR-27 from Pacific Coast Highway to Devonshire Street in Chatworth.”
