President Donald Trump has appointed Sarah Carter as the next director of the National Drug Management Policy Office (ONDCP). He made the announcement on Friday in a post on social media platform Truth Social.
“As the next drug emperor, Sarah will lead the accusations to protect our country and save our children from the drug tragedy,” Trump wrote of the Truth Society.

Carter reposted a social post of Trump’s truth to X with a message thanking the president and expressing excitement about joining the administration.
“It’s a real honor to be part of an administration that promises to serve President Donald J. Trump and put America first,” Carter wrote. “Our people are our people, and it’s up to each of us to play our part. I promise you not to stop fighting.”
As a journalist, Carter, a contributor to Fox News, gave extensive reporting on the borders, particularly during the Biden administration, when immigration policies became more lax. She called for a stronger border policy as there is a massive amount of drugs and human trafficking.

The Navy deploys additional warships to curb illegal immigration and smuggle drugs at tropical borders.
R-Tenn. Senator Marsha Blackburn of Carter congratulated her with an X post. Blackburn praised Carter’s work at the border, saying the new drug emperor would “conflict tirelessly” to keep Americans safe.

Lt. Col. Chris Olivares, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, also congratulated Carter and praised her appointment, saying it was “great for the country.”
“This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference and help many families who have lost their loved ones due to fatal illegal drugs,” writes Olivares.
