The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who believes he fired a gun at a federal officer in Ventura County on Thursday.
“During today’s legal search, it appeared that a man fired a gun at law enforcement between Wood and Lasposa at 2:26pm on Laguna Road,” the FBI Los Angeles posted on X on Thursday night with images of the suspect.
Sky5 was overhead as hundreds of protesters gathered at Glass House Farm in Camarillo.
The incident escalated around 12:35pm as officers deployed tear gas and a non-fatal round to crowds of protesters who blocked the roads on both the north and south Laguna roads.
Ventura County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and set up a triage system for people injured by tear gas at a safe distance from ongoing operations.
Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner Rodney Scott said there were 10 undocumented minors among those detained.
The man who was allegedly fired a gun with a federal agent can be seen in images provided by the FBI Los Angeles office.
US Attorney Bill Essayri shared details about his compensation with the suspicious shooter in another post.
“The FBI issued a $50,000 award for information leading to a conviction of an unknown subject that appears to have fired the pistol to a federal law enforcement official near Camarillo,” the essayri said in the post.
Essayli shared a video in the post that shows a suspect firing what appears to be a federal agent’s handgun. There were no reports of anyone injured in the shooting.
