The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Department of Defense (DOD) was placed on administrative leave Tuesday following procedures from another Pentagon official.
Darryn Cernick, deputy chief of staff to Defense Secretary Pete Hegses, has been removed from senior US officials confirmed by FOX News.
Selnick is investigating the same leak probe that Hegustes’ aide Dan Caldwell was escorted by security from the Pentagon. Selnick and Caldwell are both on administrative leave.
According to the Pentagon website, Selnick is a retired Air Force officer and has extensively worked for veteran affairs organizations.
“Mr. Sernick advocates using his extensive government and non-governmental experience to position his service members for a productive post-segment life from the first day of uniforms for veterans,” the biographer states.

Selnick and Caldwell worked for concern veterans in the past, a group previously led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegses.
Reuters reported that Caldwell was on leave for “fraudulent disclosures” as part of an investigation into leaked Pentagon documents.
The investigation was released last month and involved “recent fraudulent disclosure of national security information.”
