A wildfire smoke advisory remains in effect for much of Southern California this weekend due to wildfires in Los Angeles County.
The advisory extends from northern Los Angeles County south to Orange County and east to the Inland Empire.
“This is something you don’t want to breathe in,” said NBC4 meteorologist Stepany Olmo. “This smoke is moving around, but primarily north-northeast winds continue to push it toward the southwest.”
Most of the smoke is wafting in from the 23,600-acre Palisades Fire on the Los Angeles County coast and the 14,100-acre Eaton Fire northeast of Los Angeles. Smaller fires than those seen for miles around Southern California may also have contributed to the smoke.
According to the South Coast Air Quality Management District, people should limit outdoor activities if they smell smoke or see wildfire ash, even if they are far from the fire or are not under a smoke advisory. is said to be the best.
Smoke forecasts show the smoke will continue to drift south into Sunday due to offshore winds.
