Several new road closures were announced early Friday morning around the Palisades and Eaton fires as firefighters make the first substantial progress in extinguishing the Palisades (8%) and Eaton (3%) fires. .
Since Thursday morning, crews have closed off large side streets along Altadena Drive and New York Drive near the Eaton Fire in Altadena. These roads are accessible only to first responders.
Pacific Coast Highway and Mulholland Highway open in western Los Angeles County.
