New field-level end zone clubs and a giant video board are part of improvements planned at Pasadena’s historic Rose Bowl, the stadium’s operator announced Monday.
Projects planned for the historic venue, which opened in October 1922, include a new seating area adjacent to the south end zone, one of the largest video boards in the country, technology and connectivity upgrades and other seating improvements. Included.
The more than 70-year-old sign that has welcomed generations of football, soccer and other sports fans has been renovated, and upgrades to the stadium’s sound system have been completed ahead of the college football season. The Rose Bowl company said the project, planned as part of a campaign called the Last Legacy Campaign, will be led by privately raised funds and donations from the venue’s third-party partners and vendors. .
The stadium will host the New Year’s Day quarterfinals of the 2024-25 College Football Playoff.
