On Monday morning, Selena Gomez woke up to some exciting news.
The actress received two Golden Globe nominations for “Only Murders in the Building” and “Emilia Perez.”

She was nominated for Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture for “Emilia Perez” and Best Female Actor in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy) for “Only Murders in the Building.”
Gomez posted a video on her Instagram Stories about her reaction to receiving the nomination for her work. Wrapped in a cozy blanket, she sat up at the sound of her name and immediately buried her head in her hands, trying to contain her emotions.
“Oh my god,” she said, crying tears of joy.
Shortly after, Ariana Grande’s name was called, having been nominated in the same category for her role in “Wicked.”
“Oh my god, Ari!” Serena exclaimed.
“I can’t believe it,” she said, pulling a blanket over her face and lying down.
“I don’t even know what to write…I’m so proud of @ZoeSaldana and so grateful and honored by @goldenglobes,” she wrote in the video’s caption.
Saldaña co-stars with Gomez in the film and was nominated in the same category.
In the next slide, she wrote that she was “so proud” of her “‘Just Murder in the Building’ family.” Gomez has been nominated twice for her work on the show.
Nominations for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards were announced Monday morning by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chesnutt.
Emilia Perez leads the way with 10 nominations overall. “Only Murders in the Building” received a total of four nominations.
The Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on January 5, 2025 at 8:00 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+.
