The Senate on Wednesday approved a resolution opposed President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imports from Canada after the event supported the “liberation day.”
Four Republicans – Senator Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. Susan Collins of Maine. Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski sided with Democrats when she voted for a resolution to abolish an emergency declaration that allowed Trump to collect taxes from Canada by citing deadly fentanyl across the border. D-Va. The measure, introduced by Senator Tim Kane of the Capitol, passed the upper chamber of Congress with 51-48 votes.
The resolution is likely to be unbearable for the GOP-controlled home, but its passing was a small victory for Democrats looking for their best offensive line before the mid-term.
What is Trump’s new release date? What do you expect from April 2nd?

Paul defended the decision to cross the party’s boundaries in his speech on the Senate floor. There, American revolutionary James Otis quoted, saying, “Tax without representation is tyranny.” The senator said it was a long-standing principle that stemmed the American revolution and was incorporated into the constitution by the founding fathers.
“But today we are here before the Senate, because one of our nation wants to raise taxes,” Paul said. “Well, this is against everything our country was established. One person is not allowed to raise taxes. The Constitution forbids that.”
Paul said that the Founding Fathers “were only given to Congress, fearing the power of taxation.”
“I oppose the idea of skipping democracy, skipping constitutional republics, rejecting our establishment principles, not because I have an anim for the president,” Paul said. “I do this because I love my country, and I want to see the division of power, as it protects us all from the merging of one person, as if we are all abused, and as it protects us all from the merging of one person. Another name in the emergency rule is martial law.”

“It’s a tax, it’s simple and simple,” he said of Trump’s Canadian tariffs. “Taxes should not be enacted by one person, so I will vote today to end the emergency. I will vote today to vote for the power of taxation, the power of tariffs, where the Constitution should do properly, and where it is in Congress.”
Trump called out Paul, McConnell, Collins and Markovsky in the Truth Social Post early Wednesday, with the four saying, “We hope to ride the Republican bandwagon and fight the Democrats’ wilderness and incredible pushes for change.”
These are the “dirty 15” countries that Trump may target with tariffs on the release day
“They play in the lives of Americans, falling into the hands of radical left Democrats and drug cartels,” Trump wrote. “The Senate bill is just a DEMS trick to show and expose the weaknesses of certain Republicans. That is, these four are not going anywhere because the house never approves it, so why are they allowed our country to pour into unidentified countries because your president doesn’t sign it.

Democrats have been fighting the identity crisis since the November election led Republicans to take control of both Congress and the White House.
As Democrats strategized on how to highlight the internal division of Republicans, Kane used one of the few ways that minorities could force floor voting. Congress has the power to overturn emergency solutions.
The action against Trump’s tariffs in Canada came just hours after the president held the “American Wealthy Again” event, in which he announced an executive order to enact “mutual tariffs” on various countries.

“Faced with a merciless economic war, the US can no longer continue its policy of unilateral economic surrender. It cannot pay for the deficits of Canada, Mexico and many other countries. Previously, we cannot do that. We cannot do that anymore. “But we have to take care of our people, and we will first take care of our people.”
“Today, we are standing up for American workers and finally put America first,” he added.
