Fox learned it’s doubtful that Senate Republicans will put a big beautiful bill on the floor for discussion and vote next week. It will probably wait until the week of June 22nd. This could potentially endanger the final passage of measures through the Senate and House of Representatives by July 4th.
The Senate Finance Committee is expected to release textbooks for the bill as early as Monday. That section of the law is the broadest and perhaps the most controversial. Key tax provisions such as salt (state and local tax cuts), potential spending reductions, and Medicare/Medicaid changes all appear in this section of the law.

Senator and Senator Elizabeth McDonough will then begin a process of removing provisions that are not compiled with strict Senate budget clauses. So this plan probably isn’t ready for discussion until the next week.
If the Senate moves forward the bill, the House will accept changes to the Senate and have the window either to greenlight the bill before July 4th or bounce back to the Senate with yet another set of changes.

Such a scenario will most certainly extend the process beyond the July 4th deadline. The Senate will also force it to win the fourth vote in just a few months. So the Senate votes for hours on roll calls one after another.

Please note that July 4th is just an ambitious deadline. It’s not difficult. The true deadline is early August. That’s when the Treasury Department says the US will clash with the debt cap. The increased debt cap is part of a large and beautiful invoice.
