This week, Republicans will hold confirmation hearings for more than a dozen nominees for President-elect Trump’s administration, including Pete Hegseth, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), and Gov. Kristi Noem (R). .
Hegseth, who was nominated by President Trump to be secretary of defense, is scheduled to have one of his first hearings on Tuesday, when he will appear before the Senate Armed Services Committee at 9:30 a.m. to face questions from both Democrats and Republicans.
Rubio and Noem were selected by President Trump to be Secretary of State and Secretary of Homeland Security, respectively. Noem is scheduled to appear before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee at 9 a.m. Wednesday, and Rubio is scheduled to appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee at 10 a.m.

Other hearings on Tuesday include hearings for Doug Collins as secretary of Veterans Affairs and former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as secretary of the Interior.
President Trump also appointed Pam Bondi as Attorney General, John Ratcliffe as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Russell Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Sean Duffy as Secretary of Transportation, and Secretary of Energy. Chris Wright was selected. Each hearing will be held on Wednesday.

Hearings are scheduled for Thursday for Eric Turner, President Trump’s pick to be the next Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and Scott Bessent, the president’s nominee for Treasury Secretary.
The onslaught of hearings comes as Republicans prepare to confirm as many Trump nominees as possible as quickly as possible.

Rand Paul (R-Ky.) explained his desire to quickly confirm his selection on Friday’s “Wall Street with Maria Bartiromo,” saying, “In the past, there have been at least a handful of minority parties. “We have never interfered with the activities of high-ranking political parties.” The Cabinet is expected to be confirmed in the first week, so I expect the Secretary of State and the Department of Homeland Security to be confirmed on Inauguration Day, the next day, or the week after.
