President Trump reveals China strategy for next four years

Heritage Foundation Senior Fellow Michael Pillsbury spoke on “The Ingraham Angle” about how Chinese President Xi Jinping is sending his vice president to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

FOX 1st: Republican senators are introducing a bill that would completely ban China from purchasing American land.

The Another Inch Acre Ban Act, sponsored by Republican Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, and Republican Sens. Katie Britt of Alabama, is a Chinese Communist Party-owned law deemed national security. or the sale of land “affected” by the Chinese Communist Party. risk. It directs the president to take steps to ban Chinese citizens and companies from purchasing public or private real estate in the United States.

China owned about 350,000 acres of farmland across 27 states as of last year, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data.

As of 2022, foreign corporations and individuals own 43.4 million acres of U.S. farmland, nearly 2% of all U.S. land.

Biden administration fails to track China’s ownership of U.S. farmland: government watchdog

Lawmakers argue that China’s land purchases are a national security risk because much of the land is located near military installations. For years, the Chinese have attempted to infiltrate U.S. military facilities, often using surveillance drones or posing as tourists.

“The Chinese Communist Party has been preying on American farmland and real estate for decades,” Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Cotton said in a statement.

“At best, this would serve U.S. land and resources to Chinese rather than U.S. interests, but at worst, these purchases could serve as outposts for Chinese espionage against U.S. businesses and military bases. We cannot forgive Chinese people or Chinese officials.” The Chinese Communist Party should own another inch of American land, and all American land exploited by current Chinese ownership should be sold. is. ”

Some states already prohibit foreigners from purchasing land.

Smithfield Foods, which has a Chinese parent company, has the lion’s share of Chinese-owned land at 110,000 acres.

Concerns over China’s land purchases in 2022 came to a head when food manufacturer Fufeng Group purchased 370 acres of land for corn milling near a North Dakota Air National Guard base.

“Every acre of American farmland owned by the Chinese Communist Party is one acre too many,” Britt said. “The Chinese Communist Party’s strategic acquisition of agricultural land, especially near military installations, is not only a national security risk but also a threat to economic and food security.”

Trump hopes to visit China again after taking office: Report

To that end, the Biden administration has proposed rules that would require government approval for foreign companies and individuals looking to purchase land within 100 miles of certain U.S. military bases.

Last month, a Chinese national was arrested at San Francisco International Airport before boarding a flight to China after he allegedly tried to fly a drone over Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

Efforts to block China from purchasing U.S. farmland near U.S. military facilities are gaining momentum among Republicans in both chambers of Congress.

“It concerns me that countries like China have increased their purchases of American farmland tenfold in the past decade in order to control our land and threaten our food, energy, and national security. “It’s a matter of concern,” said Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa, who led the effort. The House of Representatives will ban China from purchasing agricultural land suitable for energy production, he told Fox News Digital.
