BabyDog is back at Capitol Hill. This time, she places emphasis on the future of America’s energy.
On Thursday, the constant companions of beloved British Bulldogs and Sen. Jim Justice, RW.VA., made their official debut before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
“She humanizes us,” Justice told the committee when she puts baby dogs in her sights. “She will absolutely make us descend from our pedestal… she will make you smile… she still loves you.” The moment ended with applause from the room and a unanimous move to enter the dog’s “testimony” into Senate records.
In an exclusive statement from Fox News Digital, Justice said: “From committee appearances to television appearances, BabyDog always brings a smile to everyone’s faces. She worked so hard this week as Senator 101 to make sure that all dog priorities were spoken (or barred) when the microphone was there.”

This moment attracted attention from both lawmakers and social media.
“The testimony of @babydogjustice will be recognized on the record without objection,” the official Senate Energy Republican treasurer declared.
Babydog’s big day didn’t stop there.
Before heading to Fox Business for her “bottom line” appearance, BabyDog shared a behind-the-scenes moment for Fox News DC station, tweeting a captioned photo, “I’m ready for a close-up.”
Justice joined Fox Business’s “final profits with Daggen McDowell” where he discussed priorities for the US energy sector, including supporting President Donald Trump’s recent executive order aimed at strengthening domestic energy production.

“President Trump is proud of us when it comes to coal,” Justice said. “We have to have coal.”
Asked about concerns that tariffs could be hindering West Virginia’s international energy market, Justice said, “It’s very premature to think of such an idea…it’s very premature to adjust when it needs to be adjusted.”

Justice warned that America faces serious decisions within the next 18 months if energy production is not expanded to meet demand.
“It could have been more expanding than that, but within a year and a half we’ll have to make a really, really tough decision,” he said. “There’s a very high chance that electricity needs will be twice as high as today.”
Justice also addresses budget and qualification reforms, linking economic growth directly to energy. “The ticket to growth is energy. Energy. Energy.

BabyDog previously appeared at Senate Agriculture Committee hearings and remains a constant presence in the Congressional Hall of Fame. As Fox News Digital reports, she continues to resonate with lawmakers and staff, just as justice says, to “connect people.”
“She loves everyone,” he said. “The rich, poor, children, or adults, or God forbids Democrats or Republicans.”

Her bipartisan charm and the growth of her public profile helped Babydog create a unique role in Washington. It is a regular presence in part-time mascots, some morale boosters, and now in policy settings. As Thursday’s hearing showed, she’s not just riding. She helps shape the tone of the room.
Currently, heading towards the April break, the Senate will postpone the energy questions not being resolved, but a bipartisan agreement that BabyDog is always welcome.
