Her father confirms that a woman has died, who says her family was attacked by her manager at a 7-Eleven store in Hollywood.

Jessica McLaughlin passed away Wednesday morning a few days after she was told she was “clinically dead” by her loved one.

McLaughlin suffered a traumatic injury during a physical conflict at the site of employment on June 24th. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene of a felony battery report at a convenience store in the 5700 block of Melrose Avenue.

McLaughlin was found in the store, but her attackers fled before police arrived.

Her family told KTLA that McLaughlin was finishing her shift when she got caught up in a heated debate with the store’s assistant manager, telling her that the manager was opposed to Jessica and threw a bottle at her.

According to fellow employees, the arguments became more violent. He described the scene as an assistant manager who locks McLaughlin to the ground and forces her to unconscious.

McLaughlin suffered severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen, which ultimately led to her death, a loved one said.

Clancy, Jessica McLaughlin’s father, said his daughter had experienced bullying at work. An additional colleague told KTLA that he witnessed and experienced bullying behavior in the manager.

In a statement provided to KTLA, a 7-Eleven spokesman said the company was fully involved in the investigation and the suspect was fired.

As of Wednesday, no police had been arrested. Police also said they have not confirmed the suspect’s identity, but they are still looking for her.

Set by McLaughlin’s brothers, the GoFundMe page now accepts donations to help pay funeral expenses and gathers personal stories about her sister.

“Listening her stories and memories has brought me so much comfort during this time,” Sean McLaughlin wrote in a recent GoFundMe update. “She was amazing and seeing how much she is loved makes this pain a little easier to carry.”

Police investigations are ongoing and anyone with information should contact LAPD. Anonymous tips can be provided online or by calling 800-222-8477.
