According to multiple media reports, the seven-year-old was tragically killed by Boulder, who collapsed at a popular ski resort on Lake Tahoe over the weekend.
The March 29 incident unfolded at Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village around 3:30pm, resort officials said in a statement posted on their website.
A large rock on the natural slope adjacent to Diamond Peak Lodge was climbing a girl identified as Adeline “Addy” Grimes of Reno, attacking the seven-year-old.

Resort medical services were warned of “non-skiing accidents involving children” and prompted immediate response by Diamond Peak ski patrols. Ski Patrol provided a response with officials from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office while awaiting the arrival of first responders from the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District.

Authorities said the young girl succumbed to her injuries despite the best efforts of the medical team.
The resort expressed sadness to the grieving family, saying that staff were “deeply affected” and “deeply saddened by the accident.”
The sheriff’s office said it was not involved in the accident but still plans to investigate the matter, according to the Orange County Register.
Located in the northeastern part of Lake Tahoe, Diamond Peak is about 30 miles south of Reno, Nevada.
