Congratulations to Dodgers superstar Shohei ohtani and his wife Tanaka Tanaka for giving birth to a daughter.
Otani made an announcement in an Instagram post on Saturday that induces AWW, sharing that he and his wife are now proud parents of baby girls. This is Otani and Tanaka’s first child, who were professional basketball players in their hometown of Japan.
“I am very grateful to my beloved wife who gave birth to our healthy, beautiful daughter,” Otani wrote in his post. “Thank you to my daughter for making us very nervous and extremely anxious parents.”
The daily privacy couple did not share their daughter’s names or photos of their newborns, but they did share images of the couple holding their daughter’s small legs. Decoy, the pair’s beloved Kooikerhondje, made a cameo with an announcement with a small photo of the dog in the corner of the post.
In addition to being grateful to his family, Otani also thanked the medical staff who supported the Dodgers and the new parents.
The two-way athlete announced in December that his wife was hoping for her first child. Otani did not specify when the baby was born.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts on Friday said Otani was on MLB’s father’s list. Under organizational rules, Otani can miss up to three games during his father’s holidays.
