Los Angeles police are searching for three suspects who opened fire and killed six people during a drive-by shooting along a south Los Angeles street Wednesday.
The crime occurred just before 3:15 p.m. near a homeless camp in Florence, Los Angeles police said.
Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and found six people shot to death, according to a news release.
Police said four women, ranging in age from 40 to 62, were shot and a 36-year-old man was also shot. A fifth woman, whose age was not disclosed, was also shot.
All six victims were shot in the lower body and were taken to local hospitals by the Los Angeles Fire Department, where they were listed in stable condition Wednesday, the statement said.

Police say the victim did not appear to be the intended target.
A preliminary investigation by police revealed that all six victims were on foot when a vehicle carrying three men pulled up and began firing shots.
A detailed description of the suspect has not been obtained.
A motive for the shooting was not immediately known, but police said the victim did not appear to be the intended target of the shooting.
Investigators also said the shooting does not appear to be homeless or gang-related.
