Smokey Robinson has been accused of fraud by four of his former employees.
Four women who worked with the singer filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday. The accusations include sexual battery, assault, false incarceration, gender violence and the creation of a hostile work environment.
His 85-year-old wife, Francis Robinson, has also been named in the lawsuit.
All plaintiffs are adult women who chose Jane Daw’s pseudonym to protect their privacy as they involve sexual misconduct by defendant Smokey Robinson.
Each woman was hired as a housekeeper at the legendary Chatsworth home in Motown, and there were incidents between 2007 and April 2024.
They each accuse him of touching “the whole body, vagina, chest, legs, abdomen, lips, face, etc.” and thinking he didn’t agree with Robinson’s “sexual contact or touch.”
“The plaintiffs expressly multiple times to defendant Robinson, they were not interested in his progress and opposed his powerful, physical, sexual and harmful conduct,” the complaint explained.
Each woman argued that Robinson’s wife did nothing to prevent these actions from happening, despite “complete knowledge of previous sexual misconduct and settling lawsuits with other women who suffered similar sexual assaults that he had perpetuated.”
They also claim that his wife “perpetuated a hostile work environment on a regular basis
They use ethnically light-jourishing language and language to individually scream in hostile ways. ”
The woman says that if the couple worked more than eight hours, they would not pay minimum wage or overtime. They also say they were not given breaks or lunch breaks and were not taking leave without a break from the holidays.
One woman identified as Jane Doe 4 said she often traveled with a couple and was not paid for doing so.
Each plaintiff alleged that the defendants were unable to provide them with wage statements for working hours.
Court documents say each woman did not want to report Robinson to the police due to her livelihood, “feeling, shame, shame, shame, embarrassment, “shame of her family and her family,” and the negative impact on the status of immigrants,” and the fear of being threatened and threatened by Robinson’s well-recognized celebrity status and his influential friends and coalitions.
The woman is suing Robinson for $50 million.

The plaintiff’s lawyers will provide more information at a Tuesday afternoon press conference in downtown Los Angeles.
