El Segundo police have been busy recently catching suspected criminals who are believed to be targeting high-value sports goods and memorabilia.
The most recent arrest was Friday when an officer investigating theft in the 700 block of the Pacific Coast Highway pulled the vehicle along with a man and a woman a short distance from the business where several items were stolen.
After confirming that the two were suspects, police collected stolen Dodgers jackets and other gear in the car, worth around $1,500 and other gear, the department said in a Facebook post.
But the haul is small compared to the value of a stolen sports memorial officer who was drawn in a week ago, the department said.
The stolen Dodgers apparel was recovered by El Segundo police officers.

On April 10, police investigating a grand larceny report at a business in the 200 block of Center Street arrested a man and a woman suspected of stealing a signed Hank Aaron baseball jersey and stealing a sports card worth approximately $500,000 from the storage unit.
When the officers arrived, the man who fit the description of the person involved in the theft tried to run out of business. Instead of fleeing, the man encountered more police officers and was taken into custody after the struggle, police said.
Police said they found a handgun loaded into the suspect’s pants, booked him on suspicion of being a felon carrying a firearm, stolen property and drugs, drove the stolen vehicle and obstructed officers.

Police also found a woman in the business who said she matched the suspect’s description and took her into custody.
She was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property, possession of two or more prior conviction drugs, and possession of prior conviction identity theft items, police said.
During the investigation, police say they learned that the pair were suspects of theft in another city, and tied them into stolen jerseys and valuable sports cards.
