A serial rapist who used a dating app to meet the victim was sentenced to 111 years in state prison on Thursday, according to a statement from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Dustin Ronald Alba, 31, from Oxnard, was found guilty of rape and sexually assaulting five women last month. He committed crimes in the cities of Aucks, Oxnard and Los Angeles from 2012 to 2020, the release said.

Several victims of Alba said they met him online through dating apps and social media. After meeting in person, they said he would use his weight to lock him up and attack him, the statement said.

Oxnard resident Dustin Ronald Alba has been sentenced to life for 111 years in a state prison for rape and sexually assaulting five women.

One woman he met through a dating app in August 2020, explained how she and Alba spent their day at Oxnard. Upon returning to his house, she forced her to “retear her clothes, pull her to the bed, digitally penetrated and raped,” the release said.

Before meeting in person, the woman told Alba she didn’t want to “hook up,” the release said.

She then reported the rape to police, officials said. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, which investigated the incident, found text messages on the other woman Alba had assaulted, and four more victims were found.

He was taken into custody in September 2020, the District Attorney’s Office said.

Alba has been convicted of nine felony counts of forced sexual activity, including rape, sodomy and attempted rape, the release said.

Additional allegations and worsening of charges against him include multiple victims, the victims being vulnerable and ALBA abused their position of trust, the release said.

“The defendant’s sexual violence causes great harm to many victims and guarantees a sentence imposed,” Ventura County Deputy Director. Atty. Rosa Romero, who indicted the case, said in a statement. “I can’t erase the pain I endure, but it’s my hope that the victim will begin to heal.”
