The rainy weather is targeting Southern California with two rounds of rain and potential snow in the middle of the week.
Starting Wednesday, Southland will be greeted with showers scattered throughout the region. The first area to see the rain is sprinkled early in the day, with some drivers encountering wet morning commutes.
“By the way we’re in 8am, some showers start to appear,” NBC4 meteorologist David Biggar said in the prediction. “Now, this will become something like our traditional weather system, so we’ll be working west to east across the region, showing occasional scattered showers.”
Jackets are certainly convenient, but many areas may not need an umbrella. At least not on Wednesday.
“I feel Wednesday is on the light side. There are probably some medium showers here and there, but most of the time it’s a lighter shower,” Biggar says.
After a short break in the rain, the clouds become thicker overnight on Thursday when cold air remains, creating a snow potential in the local mountain communities.
“A more moderate shower is expected on Thursday,” Biggar warns.
He recommends avoid going to the mountains on Thursday as roads are likely to close. So far it is unknown how much snow will fall on the mountains.
