Residents around Orange County have experienced delays in garbage and recycling collections this week as a result of labor issues at Republic Services, the city’s waste management contractor.
Republic Services is the second largest waste carrier in North America.
Orange County workers praised the Pickett Line, which was expanded by hitting a Massachusetts Teamster, demanding higher wages and refined health benefits.
The delay begins on July 9th, and residents in affected areas are encouraged to leave garbage cartoons on the curb rather than on the street until they are maintained.
Despite service interruptions, street sweep continues on schedule, even in areas where bins are not empty.
According to the city of Santa Ana, the Republic’s services will implement accelerated recovery schedules and work to keep up with missed collections throughout the weekend.

Cities such as Fullerton, Jorba Linda, Anaheim and Huntington Beach are now reopening services.
Other cities in the county are also responding to rapid collection efforts and establishing temporary drop-off locations.
Seal Beach
A 40-yard roll-off container was delivered to the Public Works Yard at Adolforopes Drive in 1776, quickly supporting his garbage disposal needs. Residents can also unload bagged household waste at Seal Beach Tennis and Pickleball Centre, located at 3900 Lampson Ave.

Residents can dispose of bagged garbage in temporary roll-off bins at Kramer Memorial Park. You may also use the Republic Service Facility at 2740 E. Coronado St. Monday through Friday from 5am to 5pm, Saturday from 5am to 2pm
Garden Gloves
The Garden Grove Sanitation District has 12 temporary garbage drop-off locations available to residents. However, bulky items, organic, or recyclable items are not accepted.
