Authorities said Sunday that three people were fatally shot dead in three incidents in the same part of South Los Angeles over the weekend.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said the shooting is under investigation, but could not say whether the incidents that took place within a mile of each other in the Green Meadows area were related.
On Friday, officers responded to the 700 block of East 108th Street around 7:30pm, when a teenage girl was shot and killed, according to LAPD officer Tony Im.
Investigators told ABC7 that the girl, who was listed by police as about 13 years old, was shot in the head inside her home.
Police were not up to date on her condition Sunday. ABC7 previously reported that she was in a “critical but stable” state.
A day later, a woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 10,200 block of South San Pedro Street, Im said. The woman, known as about 31, was declared to have died in the hospital, Im said.
Police say yet another person was shot Sunday morning in the 103rd Avenue and Avalon Boulevard area.
During the incident, reported around 4:15am, two men in blue trucks stopped along with a third party while they sat in the car and fired fire, authorities said.
The shooting victim was taken to hospital in dangerous conditions, said LAPD officer Norma Eisenman.
