The 23-year-old San Bernardino County man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of child sex abuse material (CSAM), and investigators believe there may be additional victims of the suspect.
In an investigation into the distribution and possession of CSAMs released by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau in Victorville in October 2024, investigators identified Matthew Marcus Alvarez, a resident of Victorville, as the suspect in the case.
On February 12, detectives served as a search warrant at the 23-year-old’s home and arrested him for distribution and possession of a CSAM, according to a news release from SBSD.
Matthew Marcus Alvarez, 23, was seen in a booking photo from SBSD, a Victorville resident.
“During the investigation, detectives gathered evidence and made Alvarez contact several subjects through multiple messaging applications to make them believe there may be additional victims.”
