Police are searching for the suspect who bludgeoned an elderly man to death with a baseball bat in San Bernardino County.
The suspect has been identified as Ronalee Barrett Stanberry, 37, according to the Fontana Police Department. The victim was identified only as a 79-year-old man.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on Jan. 10, police responded to an assault at Allstate Insurance in the 9700 block of Sierra Avenue in Fontana.
Police said Stanberry allegedly attacked the victim with a baseball bat before being chased away by the victim’s son. Investigators say the attack was unprovoked.
Stanberry fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading toward the eastbound freeway on-ramp at Sierra Avenue.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries 11 days later on January 21.

The suspect is described as a transient who frequently travels by train and has ties to Chino, Los Angeles and Kern counties. His most recent arrest occurred in Bakersfield.
He was last seen wearing a white-on-blue pinstripe U.S. Postal Service button-up shirt, black pants, and black sneakers that had been stolen from the victim’s business. He has several tattoos on his arms, including a tattoo of the words “Active” and “White Boy” above his eyebrow.
“The Fontana Police Department is committed to bringing justice to the victim and his family,” officials said.
