The 38-year-old man has been arrested after Riverside County deputies discovered he was in possession of dozens of illegal firearms, materials for making bombs and ammunition, authorities said Thursday.
In a news release, Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials said hometown resident Brandon Edwards was found by lawmakers in a stolen vehicle near Glen Oaks and Pratt Road, Temecula on the morning of June 8th.
After a traffic stop and searching for the vehicle, deputies found four firearms (a mix of rifle and handguns), a suppression device and a large amount of ammunition.
Edwards was later arrested for suspected weapons and possession of a stolen vehicle.
During a follow-up investigation at his hometown residence in the 25,000 block of Rocky Ridge Road, about 20 miles from where lawmakers detained him, authorities recovered dozens of illegal firearms, more ammunition, explosive materials and homemade improvised explosive devices during the assembly process.

Investigators also say the 38-year-old was making and selling illegal firearms.
No motivation is provided as to why the suspects are assembling the improvised explosive devices, and it is unclear whether the man intends to separate them.

The RCSD’s dangerous device team responded to the residence to safely seize the materials.
Edwards is currently facing additional charges related to possessing weapons, criminal threats and possessing bomb-making materials.
He is currently being held without bail at the COIS Bird Detention Center.
